    Why Turkey changed it's name with Turkiye? The country of Turkey has been inhabitated by Turks since 11 c. AD. Europeans,Persians and Arabs called Turkish people as Turk, Spanish and Latins called Turco.And the land of Turkish people has been called as ''Turkey''. In 15th c AD,when America continent was discovered,humankind met with many new plants and animals.One of them was bird Turkey.And each of these unique plants and animals were so special that some people stole and brought them into Spain first,then Northern Africa.At that time Northern Africa was under control of Ottoman Turks.When Turkish people saw the bird Turkey,they called it 'Hindi',because they thought that it came from India.(possibly because when people discover America,they thought it is India) So , Bird Turkey made a big circle around the world then introduced by Turks to Europeans.And they called it ''Turkey-hen''.As time pass , 'hen' disappeared and 'turk...
